Entry Level Multi Process
Designed as an entry level program, this 10 week, 300 hour course features training in the four most common welding processes. This course is approved as a vocational program under the Private Career Colleges Act, 2005, and qualifies for Employment Ontario and/or Second Career financial assistance.
- S.M.A.W (Shielded Metallic Arc Welding or Stick Welding)
- G.M.A.W (Gas Metallic Arc Welding or MIG Welding)
- F.C.A.W (Flux Core Arc Welding)
- G.T.A.W (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding or TIG Welding)
The focus of the course is ‘hands-on’ training, with some theory training and homework. Students work through self-guided tutorials in blueprint reading, welding symbols and trades math. We offer one-on-one assistance with the theory components, but students are expected to work on these components outside of school time which is focused on actual welding.
Upon successful completion, students will achieve three separate tickets with the Canadian Welding Bureau (typically in SMAW, GMAW, & FCAW in the flat position).
In addition to the welding skills and the theory component, students learn cutting processes including OXY-FUEL, Band saw, Grinding and Plasma Cutting.
